Burlington’s Core Commitment Strategies to achieve our downtown vision.

I found this on the City of Burlington Web Site tonight a guiding document a vision document a sort of grand plan document for downtown, back when Rob MacIsaac was Mayor.

This document was tabled at the April 18, 2005 meeting of the Community Development Committee. The committee did discuss and consider the document at their May 11, 2005 meeting. (as far as the document does lead us to believe is true)

WARNING> this document is a PDF document. Here >> http://cms.burlington.ca/Asset630.aspx << is a link to it on the City of Burlington Web site, it’s a great read.

The table of contents for the document are here listed below and their page #'s.

Part I - Vision and Principles

1. Introduction  2
2. Our Community, Our Commitment  4
3.  The Provincial Context for Growth  9
4.  Guiding Principles & Key Success Factors  11

Lets help them keep on track by helping them revisit this guiding light and grand vision.

It was a good vision, and it should not be forgotten nor neglected.

I encourage you to ask Peter Thome the Ward councilor and Mayor Cam Jackson where this Vision has gone, and what have they done lately to ensure that DownTown Burlington’s Micro Economy is strong vibrant and sustainable so that it is more capable of weathering global macro economic crisis.
