Opened in November 2005, Présage is a little gem in Burlington’s downtown shopping district, offering a small but wonderfully eclectic selection of vintage dresses, coats, hats and jewellery. Owner Michele DeMoe is also
a passionate supporter of edgy, homegrown Canadian designer lines such as Dagg & Stacey,Trig, Hyphen and House of Spy."A lot of (local) fashion graduates are so talented and should really be promoted," says DeMoe, adding that students from local fashion programs often find success south of the border, yet have a harder time gaining recognition in Canada. DeMoe does her part by featuring the designers’ pictures and biographies above their clothing.
